Youth Rowing Programs 2010-2011
Youth Learn-to-Row
Each class is eight sessions long and the fee is $175 per person.

Please contact the head coach if you would like to learn how to row.

If you have a group of four or more, we can set up custom dates and times for you. Please contact us for more information!

Summer Camp The summer camp is geared towards youth with no prior rowing experience but those with experience are welcome to sign up as well.
Campers will learn the basics of rowing as well as information on nutrition, weight training and training on the rowing machine. The camp will prepare participants to continue on and join the Junior Team.

July 12-16

School Fieldtrips This is an excellent opportunity for students to experience a new sport. Not only will students learn the basics of rowing, but they will also practice working together as a team to overcome challenges.

This program is available for students in grades six to twelve and runs from 9:30-2:30 on a day that you choose. The cost per student is $15, (teachers are free) and includes instruction, equipment use, insurance, and registration with Rowing Canada Aviron.

We are able to accomodate thirty students at a time (give or take a few).

Memberships for the 2010/2011 Season
Below are the practice times for the year for both recreational and competitive members.
Recreational rowers do not attend regattas, competitive members do attend regattas. There are certain practices (time trials, for example) that competitive rowers should attend. Please contact the head coach for more information.

There are four different fees to choose from based on how much rowing you would like to do:
One practice per week for $440
Two practices per week for $600
Three practices per week for $760
Unlimited practices per week for $880
If there is more than one person rowing from the same family, there is a 10% discount for each additional family member.

Included in the Membership:
- flexibility to row at any of the scheduled times that a coach is on the water
- use of ergs (rowing machines) 24 hours a day, as long as they are not being used by a scheduled program
- membership in the Old Mill Boathouse (OMBh)
- use of OMBh facilities including showers
- membership with Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA)
- membership with Rowing BC (RBC)
